United make one final long away trip of the season on the back of a three-week international break that saw eight of the Lasses head away to represent their respective countries.

During Oxtoby’s pre-match interview, she spoke about what she’s hoping to see from her players on Sunday, as well as her return to Ashton Gate, where she kick-started her managerial career.

“We need to control what we can control, and that is to make sure we go after a result on Sunday.

“We just need to make sure we do our part and hope that results go our way because we’d kick ourselves if results went our way and then we didn’t do our bit.

“So, that’s been the main message to the group: control our performances and give ourselves every opportunity.”

“Eight games unbeaten is a nice stat, but fundamentally for me, we’ve not picked up enough points in games where we felt we should have.

“So, there are areas for improvement, and we’ve been working really hard on those, and this group of players want more, and we’re striving for more.

“There are certain things that we feel like we are doing well, but certainly, there are areas of improvement.”

“I have such a soft spot for Bristol, my little boy was born there, and I started my managerial career there, and I’m looking forward to going back to Ashton Gate. But, we’re going there to get a result, and all focus is on that this weekend.”

“Bristol are a good side, so we ned to make sure we put in a good 90-minute performance. We’ve spoken a lot about control and controlling the game in certain areas, and how we want to do that.

“We’ve worked hard on that this week, and I want to see that come out on Sunday. I want to see us be in a position where we’re in control, whether that’s with or without the ball.

“This league has shown that everybody can take points off everybody, so we go into every game knowing it will be tough.”
