Dundee fans, we asked for your opinions on the 1-0 victory over St Mirren at Dens Park. George: Dundee need to attack teams and get plenty of goals, not sit with 1-0 lead and give supporters nightmares. Steven Pressley has put together a decent team, it's just a shame that it took a while for them to gel at the start of the season or else we would have finished higher.

Dundee took a giant step toward Scottish Premiership safety with a gritty 1-0 victory over St Mirren at Dens Park—and the fans are buzzing. After a tense afternoon that had supporters on the edge of their seats, the Dark Blues are now within touching distance of securing their top-flight status.

While the win was celebrated, not everyone was completely satisfied. George summed up the frustration of many: "Dundee need to attack teams and get plenty of goals, not sit with a 1-0 lead and give supporters nightmares. We need to win, and win well, next game to reach 39 points." It's a classic football conundrum—three points are three points, but the style of play can leave fans craving more.

Rod, however, took a broader view, praising manager Steven Pressley's work. "I don't think we're really at risk of relegation, but we needed these points. I think we'll finish above Aberdeen in eighth this season. Pressley has put together a decent team—it's just a shame it took a while for them to gel at the start, or else we would have finished higher." That slow start has been a recurring theme, but the team's recent form suggests they've found their rhythm.

Innes highlighted the importance of the first-half performance: "A very welcome three points. We did enough in the first 45 minutes to merit the win. If we can beat Livingston next, we'll have just enough. Breathing space, but still close." With the season entering its final stretch, every point feels like gold dust.

Albert was more emphatic: "That's us safe, I think. What a marvellous first season in the hot seat for Pressley. Can't hear a peep out the doubters now." It's a sentiment that reflects the growing confidence around Dens Park—a far cry from the uncertainty earlier in the campaign.

Gary pointed to tactical improvements under Pressley: "We looked better from the off, as he picked a more structured side—arguably the line-up that should've started the Dundee derby. Pressley said we'd likely react, and his players did what they needed to, although it could've been more comfortable. It was a nervy game." He also noted the unfortunate injury to Jon McCracken, but added, "We've a capable replacement in Kieran O'Hara it seems. A result against Livi and a favour from Killie next week saves us."

Iain struck a cautious tone: "A big win to halt a sequence of poor results and performances. Probably safe from relegation, but this team has proved fragile all season. It's not over yet! McCracken's injury could be important." Danny echoed that caution: "We are slowly edging ourselves to safety, but it's been a struggle, and we could easily have dropped points with that second-half display. We still lack a bit of dig in midfield."

For Dundee, the path to safety is now clearer, but the job isn't done. With key fixtures ahead, Pressley's men will need to channel that first-half energy for a full 90 minutes. And as the fans know all too well, in football, nothing is certain until the final whistle blows.
