For lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fans Jeff and Steve Nagel, a missed opportunity two years ago has made their latest honor even sweeter. The twin brothers from Dayton, famously known as the "Bengals Twins," had to decline an invitation to represent the team at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit due to a scheduling conflict. After realizing the unique experience they passed up, they vowed not to let another chance slip away.
That chance has now arrived in a big way. The Bengals have selected the Nagel brothers to be part of the exclusive "Inner Circle" at the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. This prestigious program, a dream for NFL superfans, invites only seven primary representatives—plus a guest—from each team's fanbase to attend the first two days of the draft and related festivities. For Jeff and Steve, this nod is the ultimate recognition of their 44-year tenure as dedicated season ticket holders.
"I don't think our feet have hit the ground," Steve Nagel said, capturing their exhilaration. "We're so excited."
The journey to this moment began in their youth, inspired by their late Uncle Ron and Aunt Wilma, who were fixtures at training camps and games. When the season tickets were passed down to the twins, now 59, they embraced the legacy with full force. Their commitment extends beyond the stadium; they actively support players' charitable foundations, believing in celebrating athletes for their off-field impact as much as their on-field heroics.
From seats three rows from the top at the old Riverfront Stadium to their current spot just six rows from the field at Paycor Stadium, near the player tunnel, their view has improved dramatically. "The NFL gods were with us," Jeff noted, reflecting on their upgrade through a stadium lottery. This latest draft invitation proves that for these devoted twins, loyalty and passion for the team truly pay off.
