The Los Angeles Rams have their quarterback of the future in Ty Simpson, selected 13th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. With that foundational piece secured, General Manager Les Snead can now pivot to his favorite offseason strategy: aggressive roster building through midseason trades.

Snead has a proven track record of swinging deals for elite talent, bringing in stars like Matthew Stafford, Jalen Ramsey, and Von Miller to Super Bowl contention. Now, with an eye on the 2026 season, the Rams could look to bolster their receiving corps to support both the veteran Stafford and the developing Simpson. Here are three wide receivers who could be on their radar.

Garrett Wilson (New York Jets)
The most explosive—and expensive—option on the board. Wilson signed a four-year, $130 million extension last offseason, but recent history suggests that means little in New York. The Jets traded away Sauce Gardner after his own mega-deal, and the organization appears directionless after head coach Aaron Glenn's massive roster overhaul following just one season. Wilson is the type of instant-impact receiver who could elevate the Rams' offense immediately for Stafford and serve as a long-term weapon for Simpson. Expect him to be elsewhere by this time next year.

However, there are three potential roadblocks. First, retaining the entire defensive line could make Wilson's cap hit prohibitive. Second, a midseason trade would require the Rams to act fast and absorb over $8 million in remaining salary. Third, the team must ensure there are no lingering chemistry issues between Wilson and Davante Adams from their Jets tenure—though none have been reported. Finally, Puka Nacua's looming extension could complicate the financial picture, as Wilson's big-money years kick in just as Nacua's new deal would begin.

For a Rams team that loves to make splashy moves, Wilson represents the highest ceiling—and the highest price tag.
