The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have become a powerhouse in college football again. With the expanded playoffs, they have an even greater chance of making it each year, despite not playing in a conference. It didn’t help them this season, but they did play in the National Championship a year ago.
No matter where they stand, however, there are always going to be high-end players who enter the NFL Draft out of Notre Dame and become prominent NFL stars.
The Chicago Bears, being one of the closest teams to Notre Dame geographically, may want to think about the Fighting Irish that they have scouted when making a selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. These three stick out as potential hits for the Bears if they look down that path:

Mandatory Credit: Raj Mehta-USA TODAY SportsJadarian Price, RBJeremiyah Love is Notre Dame’s top draft prospect this year. He will be the first running back off the board, likely in the top 10. With that said, Jadarian Price is a great Notre Dame running back to consider as well. Playing in the shadow of Love was good for Price in 2025, as he still had a year that proved he’s a good NFL prospect. Price is someone for the Bears, or anyone in the NFL for that matter, to consider with a top-100 pick. A running back isn’t the number one priority for Chicago, but another solid player at the position would be good for the depth of the offense. Ben Johnson loves running the ball to go with the passing game of Caleb Williams, so Price may be someone to consider at some point.
The Bears traded DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills this offseason. They still have good receivers ready to go for 2026, including Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III, but it should shock nobody if Ben Johnson uses his influence to get one. Fields is expected to go in the third or fourth round of the draft, making him the perfect risk if Johnson is positive that drafting a receiver is a good idea. In 2026, his first year with Notre Dame after transferring from Virginia, Fields had 36 receptions for 630 yards and five touchdowns. Fields would have a great situation in Chicago because of the coach, quarterback, and weapons that surround him. His talent may prevail if they make this pick and develop him correctly.
The Bears need help on their offensive line. They don’t need guards as much as a left tackle or center, but some players are capable of moving around. There is also a need for depth, because it is unlikely that the Bears have the health luck in 2026 that they did in 2025. Billy Schrauth is someone to consider drafting as a player who could develop behind some of the current starters. Part of building sustained success in Chicago is always having a strong offensive line, and that means having depth. Schrauth is not going to be a superstar, unless he finds something he hasn’t shown yet, but he has the ceiling of a player who can be a solid contributor for run blocking.
