Thatcher, a dynamic signal-caller from Arbor View High School, made his first trip to Ann Arbor and left with much more than just a souvenir. The visit was a reunion of sorts, reconnecting him with head coach Kyle Whittingham and several assistants who had previously recruited him to Utah. "I’ve had a super close relationship with them for a long time," Thatcher shared. "It’s why I committed to them at Utah early. They’ve just been waiting for me to get up and check out Ann Arbor, and I just loved it."

The experience clearly made a powerful impression. Thatcher had the chance to dive deep into the football program, observing offensive coordinator Jason Beck in action during practice. He came away impressed with Beck's adaptable philosophy. "Coach Beck changes the offense based on his QB’s strengths," Thatcher noted, highlighting how his own elite athleticism could be a perfect fit. He also spent valuable time with quarterbacks coach Koy Detmer Jr. and reaffirmed his high regard for Coach Whittingham's leadership.

For a young athlete at the center of a major recruitment, the visit was a resounding success. When asked for his overall take, Thatcher's summary was succinct and telling: "Loved everything about it." His recruitment journey is far from over, but Michigan has firmly positioned itself as a top contender.
