The 2026 NFL draft concluded on Saturday. Obviously, it means that we need a mock draft for 2027.
No, we don't need it, but it does give us some insight to the coming college football season and what NFL teams are projected to do.
Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy served up a first-round 2027 mock draft, which should be of note for Arizona Cardinals fans.
Well, with the longest odds to win the Super Bowl and as the favorite to win the fewest games in 2026, they have the first overall pick. That would mean an easy pick at No. 1 — Texas QB Arch Manning.
However, he isn't the pick. The Cardinals get Oregon QB Dante Moore. Moore probably would have been the second quarterback drafted over this weekend had he not decided to return to Oregon for another season.
As of today, Moore over Manning, especially considering how head coach Mike LaFleur likes bigger built quarterbacks, would be a surprise.
As of today, the Cardinals finishing in the top five of the draft in 2027 and drafting a quarterback seems inevitable. We will see if that happens in reality.
