The first day of the 2026 NFL Draft is over, which means the elite quarterbacks are off the board. Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and Bama's Ty Simpson both were taken in round one. This year's QB class is thin. Next year's should be much more robust and will most certainly include Texas' Arch Manning. But where does UT's QB rank?

USA TODAY Sports NFL reporter Ayrton Ostly has ranked the Top 10 quarterbacks for the 2027 NFL Draft. Longhorns fans might not be happy with where Ostly put Manning.

Several teams are maneuvering in the 2026 draft with the 2027 NFL Draft class in mind. Potential top-five QB prospects selections in this year's draft opted instead to return to school for another year before joining the NFL.

The top QB for next year's draft is a close battle between Oregon's Dante Moore, Ohio State's Julian Sayin and Texas' Arch Manning. So who did Ostly put No. 1? Moore. He put Arch Manning No. 3.

"Twelve months ago, it was Manning whom everyone had penciled in as the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. What a difference six months made. Manning struggled out of the gate in his first season as the Longhorns’ starter. New starters on the offensive line and wide receiver room took some time to sort out. He looked like a much better player in December than he did in September. If he can build on that finish, he’s a threat for the No. 1 spot." - Ayrton Ostly of USA TODAY Sports

While Longhorns fans might not like Manning being ranked third, it could be a blessing in disguise. The hype around Manning was off the charts last season. The expectations were overwhelming. Many that lauded Manning as the greatest QB of his generation quickly called him the biggest bust of all time. If people still doubt Manning, that's not the worst thing. It takes the spotlight off some.
