The Gamecocks just added some serious size to their future offensive line. Jaxon Elston, a three-star interior offensive lineman from Oxford, Alabama, has officially committed to South Carolina, as first reported by Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Standing at a massive 6-foot-4.5 and 320 pounds, Elston brings the kind of anchor presence that every SEC program covets. He chose the Gamecocks over Arkansas and Georgia Tech, signaling a big recruiting win for head coach Shane Beamer and his staff.
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking—a weighted average that compiles data from all major recruiting outlets—Elston is rated as the No. 1,105 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle and the No. 86 interior offensive lineman nationally. He also checks in as the No. 38 recruit from the state of Alabama, a hotbed of football talent.
Elston first received his offer from South Carolina back in February and quickly made his way to Columbia for a spring visit. That trip clearly left a lasting impression. While he had originally planned to announce his decision in June, the big lineman decided to lock in his commitment early.
“South Carolina is definitely really high on my list right now,” Elston told Rivals’ Chad Simmons back in March. “This visit most definitely helped Carolina and I love the school a lot, especially knowing I can have the chance to reunite with past teammates. The atmosphere was amazing and the coaches and recruiters showed great hospitality.”
For Gamecock fans, this commitment is more than just a recruiting win—it’s a glimpse of the physicality Beamer is building for the future. And for those looking to rep the next generation of South Carolina football, keep an eye on Elston as a name that could anchor the line for years to come.
