The Tennessee Volunteers are already building for the future, and their latest addition to the 2027 recruiting class is turning heads in the Peach State. Three-star defensive back Carter Jamison has officially committed to Tennessee, as reported by Chad Simmons of On3.

Hailing from Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia, Jamison brings a blend of speed and skill that has drawn early attention from college scouts. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds, the young defensive back has a frame that screams potential for growth at the next level. Notably, he follows in the footsteps of Vols legends Eric Berry, Evan Berry, and Elliott Berry, all of whom also suited up for Creekside before making their mark in Knoxville.

According to 247Sports, Jamison is ranked as the No. 101 safety in the nation and the No. 115 overall player in Georgia for his class. These rankings highlight his promise, especially given that Tennessee was the first program to offer him a scholarship back on February 17. He got an early taste of Rocky Top with an unofficial visit for spring practice on April 2, and he's set to make it official with a campus visit on June 19.

While the Vols were first to extend an offer, Jamison's recruitment was heating up. Other schools on his offer list include USF, Charlotte, UNLV, Western Michigan, Liberty, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, and East Carolina. But Tennessee's early investment in his talent appears to have paid off.

Jamison joins a growing 2027 class for Tennessee that now boasts seven commitments. He lines up alongside linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, and wide receiver KeSean Bowman. This group is shaping up to be a strong foundation for the Volunteers' future.

For fans tracking the Vols' recruiting momentum, this commitment is another sign that Tennessee is making waves early for the class of 2027. Stay tuned for more updates as the program continues to build its roster for years to come.
