BOOOOOOM! 2027 four-star RB Tyson Robinson has committed to Michigan Football! Tony Alford lands another stud on the recruiting trail. STORY:

The Michigan Wolverines have landed another major piece in their 2027 recruiting class, and it's time to celebrate. Four-star running back Tyson Robinson officially announced his commitment to head coach Sherrone Moore's program on Saturday, sending a jolt of excitement through Ann Arbor.

Robinson, a compact and explosive 5-foot-9, 195-pound back from Jackson, Mississippi, chose the Maize and Blue over a stacked list of suitors that included Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miami, Arizona State, and Mississippi State. His decision marks a significant win for running backs coach Tony Alford, who has been diligently building this relationship for nearly a year.

Alford first offered Robinson a scholarship back in June of last year, and the connection only deepened from there. Robinson took multiple visits to campus this spring, including a trip that left a lasting impression. "Coach Alford is like a father figure that's going to be a hard coach," Robinson told Rivals. "We talk about a lot of things, not just football. He makes it feel good and like home too. Around him, I feel comfortable, and he tells me I'm his No. 1 priority."

That trust and familiarity extend beyond the coaching staff. Robinson shares the same adviser, Adam McCann, as current Wolverines running back Savion Hiter. That pre-existing relationship with the Michigan program helped smooth the path to a commitment. "With his goals and what he wants to do, with the teaching that Tony does, it is like a match made in heaven," McCann said. "He's not chasing the big bucks, he's not chasing the big logos, he's chasing relationships."

On the field, Robinson brings a skill set that should have Michigan fans excited. According to 247Sports' Andrew Ivins, he's a compact runner with an impressive blend of quickness, balance, and agility. He can beat defenders to the perimeter with his speed, but also has the feet and feel to work effectively between the tackles. That versatility makes him a perfect fit for a Michigan offense that values physical, downhill running.

Robinson is scheduled to take his official visit to Ann Arbor on the weekend of June 19, further solidifying his place in the Wolverines' 2027 class. For fans who love seeing the future of Michigan football take shape, this is a commitment worth celebrating.
