The 2026 UIL State Track & Field Championships are officially underway, and the energy at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin is electric. As one of the largest high school meets in the nation, this three-day event brings together Texas's finest athletes, all vying for state glory from Thursday, May 14, through Saturday, May 16.

With six classifications competing, the competition is fierce. This year, over 600 qualifiers from the Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Lubbock, San Angelo, and Wichita Falls areas have made the trip to Austin, representing the best of the Lone Star State. A dedicated team of reporters and photographers from seven USA TODAY Network Texas properties is on the ground, capturing every sprint, jump, and throw.

We've already seen standout performances in the distance events. In the girls' 3,200-meter run, Brynleigh McFarlin of Keene took the top spot with an impressive time of 11:01.22, followed closely by Sara Spears of Holiday at 11:07.29. On the boys' side, Noah Strohman of Holiday dominated the 3,200-meter race, crossing the finish line in 9:02.85, with his teammate Ryder Strohman securing second place at 9:10.48.

For the latest results, stories, and videos from the track, keep an eye on our updates throughout the weekend. This page will be refreshed as new champions are crowned at the iconic Mike A. Myers Stadium. Please note that all schedules are subject to change, so check back often for the most current information.
