Jon Rahm on Tuesday pushed back against the narrative that his defection to LIV Golf at the end of 2023 was a possible way to end golf’s civil war.

Jon Rahm isn't looking back—and he's certainly not losing any sleep over his decision to join LIV Golf. Speaking at the PGA Championship in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, the Spanish superstar pushed back on the idea that his high-profile move was meant to help heal golf's fractured landscape.

"That was never an argument in my mind," Rahm said firmly. "I never made a decision based on that."

Since his stunning defection at the end of 2023—reportedly for a nine-figure payday—Rahm has been a consistent force on the LIV circuit. But off the course, his future has been a hot topic. Recent news that the Saudi Public Investment Fund will stop funding the league after this season has only fueled the speculation.

Rahm confirmed he's locked in for "several" more years and, given the nature of the deal, doesn't see "many ways out." Translation: He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Still, the two-time major winner admits the landscape has shifted. "If the terms change afterward, like it's happened with LIV that things changed a little bit, it's..." he trailed off, acknowledging the uncertainty swirling around the league.

On the course, Rahm's major championship form hasn't quite matched his pre-2024 brilliance. But the 30-year-old isn't dwelling on past decisions—or regrets.

"Whatever decision you've made is thought through for the reasons you think are proper. There's no sense in dwelling on it," he said. "At least there's nothing that you regret."

Whether LIV's future remains bright or cloudy, one thing is clear: Jon Rahm is playing his own game, on his own terms.
