The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its new divisional breakdowns for the 2026 season, and Ravenna is the only local school that is set to change divisions from a year ago. The Ravens are moving from Division IV to Division V. Ravenna was in Division III as recently as 2021.
Here's the full list of what division and region every local team will compete in this coming season:
V, Region 17: Crestwood, Garfield, Ravenna (from IV), Southeast

Here are a few more notes about the latest divisional breakdown:
Mogadore is in Division VII for the second consecutive season after being in Division VI from 2017-2024.
Both Waterloo and Mogadore landed in Division VII but were very close to the Division VI cutoff with football-adjusted enrollments of 104 and 100, respectively. An enrollment of 107 would have landed either in Division VI.
Crestwood and Garfield, both of which landed in Division V, are similarly close to the Division VI cutoff on the opposite side. Crestwood and Garfield have football-adjusted enrollments of 155 and 153, respectively. An enrollment of 149 would have put either in Division VI.
One crazy thing about Ravenna's move? The Ravens aren't even that close to the Division IV line at this point with 23 larger schools in Division V.
