The Minnesota Vikings have made another selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, and with this pick, they have doubled up on the defensive front with another big body.
Career Accomplishments: Third-Team All-Big 12 (2025)
With the 82nd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Vikings have picked defensive tackle Domonique “Big Citrus” Orange from Iowa State University.
Orange is another very, very large human, checking in at 6’2” and around 325 pounds. He will be expected to come in and provide some very significant support against the run for Brian Flores’ defense, which is what he provided for the Cyclones in college. This may seem like a bit of an unusual pick given the selection of Caleb Banks in Round 1, but those two young men provide a whole lot of beef up front as the Vikings continue to focus on the defensive side of the football early in this 2026 NFL Draft.
Unlike Banks, however, at this point in his career Orange doesn’t provide a whole lot of juice. . .see what I did there. . .when it comes to the pass rush. It remains to be seen if that part of his game is something that can be developed, but for now he should be able to step in and provide very solid run support from the very start of his NFL career.
The Vikings have a pair of third-round picks still to come this evening, and they’ll come back-to-back at #97 and #98 overall.
