Last offseason, the New Orleans Saints selected their franchise quarterback incumbent in Tyler Shough, who did well in year one with Chris Olave as his primary wideout. Now, he will be working with another big-name threat on the outside, as the Saints brought in Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson to play alongside the two of them.
Tyson may end up being the top receiver in this class if he is able to remain healthy long-term, as in college, he had a litany of unrelated injuries that held him back. Regardless, he raises the ceiling of this offense immensely long-term, and Shough was thrilled to have him join the squad right after the pick was made.
It is good to see Shough excited about the move as well, knowing how important this pairing will be to the future of the Saints. While he had advocated heavily for the team to select Chris Bell, his former teammate at Louisville, getting a high-octane player to throw to, like Tyson, is a good sign for his future as a passer.
We will see if it ends up panning out, but for now, it is a positive that the Saints remained at the pick, kept their own selections for 2027, and were still able to get one of the top players at the position in this class.
