The New York Giants won't be packing their passports for the 2026 season. Despite hints that Big Blue might head overseas, the NFL's full international schedule—revealed Wednesday on Good Morning Football—has the Giants staying stateside.
This comes as a mild surprise. The Giants are set to face the Detroit Lions this year, and Detroit had already been locked in for a game in Germany. Add in that New York was awarded global marketing rights in Germany last year, and many fans assumed a transatlantic trip was in the works. Instead, the Giants will travel to Detroit—and only Detroit.
For football fans who love the global game, the 2026 international slate is still packed with action. Here's where the NFL is heading:
Week 1 – San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia (Thursday, Sept. 10, 8:35 p.m. ET)
Week 3 – Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Sunday, Sept. 27, 4:25 p.m. ET)
Week 4 – Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Commanders in London, England (Sunday, Oct. 4, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Week 5 – Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars in London, England (Sunday, Oct. 11, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Week 6 – Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars in London, England (Sunday, Oct. 18, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Week 7 – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints in London, England (Sunday, Oct. 25, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Week 9 – Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons in Madrid, Spain (Sunday, Nov. 8, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Week 10 – New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany (Sunday, Nov. 15, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Week 11 – Minnesota Vikings vs. San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City, Mexico (Sunday, Nov. 22, 8:20 p.m. ET)
While Giants fans might feel left out, they can take comfort in a traditional home schedule—and maybe save a few bucks on international travel. For the teams heading abroad, it's a chance to grow the game and build their brand on a global stage. Whether you're cheering from the stands in Melbourne or your living room in New Jersey, the 2026 season promises plenty of gridiron drama.
