Gems can be discovered after the NFL draft—and no team, at least in recent memory, knows that like the Carolina Panthers.
In 2024, they signed undrafted free-agent wideout Jalen Coker. The Holy Cross star went on to be the team's third-leading receiver as a rookie, then their second-leading receiver in 2025—where he also dropped 134 receiving yards and a touchdown in the franchise's first playoff game since 2017.
The next spring, Carolina got their hands on cornerback Corey Thornton and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald. Thornton, even in an injury-shortened campaign, flashed promise in the secondary while Fitzgerald established himself as a reliable leg with an 82.8-percent field goal rate.
So, will they find themselves some more worthwhile additions following the 2026 selection process?
