Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball is sending two players to the USA Basketball 3x3 development camp. Here's who.

Two Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball players are set to showcase their talents on the national stage. Sophomores Ava Heiden and incoming transfer Dani Carnegie have been selected to participate in the USA Basketball 3x3 development camp and showcase, scheduled for May 6-8 in Phoenix, Arizona.

This marks the USA Basketball debut for both athletes. The camp, which focuses on under-23 women's players, provides a competitive yet educational environment designed to sharpen skills and elevate performance—a perfect platform for rising stars looking to make their mark.

Heiden is coming off a breakout sophomore season that turned heads across the nation. She led all Power Four players and ranked third nationally with an impressive 18.0 points per game. Her 612 total points now stand as the third-highest single-season total by an Iowa sophomore. Her stellar performance earned her AP/USBWA All-America Honorable Mention and first-team All-Big Ten honors from both coaches and media.

Carnegie, who will join the Hawkeyes next season, brings her own impressive credentials. During her sophomore year at Georgia, she averaged 33.4 minutes, 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, earning first-team All-SEC honors. Her versatility was already on display when she was named the ACC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024 while playing for Georgia Tech, where she also made the All-ACC Freshman Team.

The 3x3 format offers a fast-paced, high-intensity challenge that complements traditional five-on-five play, and these two Hawkeyes are ready to prove they can excel in any setting.
