The Atlanta Falcons have some big decisions to make in the coming months, and it all starts with locking up their most explosive playmakers. Once the 2026 NFL Draft class is signed, the front office should turn its full attention to securing long-term deals for the trio of offensive stars that make this team truly dangerous: wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts, and running back Bijan Robinson.
Robinson is already locked in through the 2027 season after the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option, so there's some breathing room there. But London and Pitts? That's a different story. Both are currently under contract only through the 2026 campaign, meaning if new deals aren't signed by next March, they'll hit unrestricted free agency. And trust us—teams will be lining up.
Daniel Popper of The Athletic recently ranked the top 30 potential free agents for 2027, and both Falcons made the cut. London landed at No. 6, and it's easy to see why. Through Week 11, he was fifth in the league in receiving yards, and even with an injury, he finished second in the NFL with nine contested catches, according to Pro Football Focus. Only Puka Nacua had more. A fully healthy London is one of the best young No. 1 wideouts in the game, and signing him to a lucrative extension should be a no-brainer. One team insider expects his next deal to look a lot like the one the Jets gave Garrett Wilson—a massive payday for a true difference-maker.
Pitts, meanwhile, came in at No. 25. The 2021 No. 4 overall pick was franchise-tagged before he could test the open market, and he's due to make $15.045 million on that tag. The Falcons have until July to negotiate a long-term extension, much like the Jets did with Breece Hall. But while re-signing London feels like a slam dunk, Pitts is a bit more complicated. His first four NFL seasons were underwhelming for a top-five pick, with numbers that didn't always match the hype. However, he turned a corner in 2025 with a breakout campaign, racking up 88 catches and reminding everyone why he was such a highly touted prospect. If he keeps that momentum, locking him up could be one of the smartest moves the Falcons make.
